Gamepal gets accounts banned

Gamepal gets account banned

Update: I’m challenging Gamepal to prove they don’t get every account banned.  Checkout my Gamepal challenge to see if they accept.

I am an infrequent World of Warcraft player. I usually just play with my son when we have some free time in the evenings. But because he plays a lot more than I get the chance, I’m always lagging behind in levels. So when someone told me about a service through a company called Gamepal that will have someone else play your character when you’re not playing, that sounded great. For a few bucks I could have them play my character and catch up to my son’s level.

I hired the company to take my level 27 rouge to level 40. A small jump by the looks of most of their orders. I paid $49 for this service through Paypal.

I checked my account the next day, and I was already at level 30. That’s much better than I could have done. But on the following day I got a frantic call from my cousin, the person who refered me to Gamepal. He said I should cancel the service ASAP because his WoW account was just banned. So, when I returned home, I checked my account and saw that I was still active at level 34. I logged onto Gamepal’s chat system and canceled my account. I also quickly changed my password so they could no longer log in.

The next day I went to log in to play with my son, and sure enough I got the following message:

You World of Warcraft account has been closed.

I checked my email and saw this discouraging information

Offense: Use of Third Party Automation Software

This account has been found to have employed third party software
designed to automate many aspects of the World of Warcraft game play
experience. Such software runs contrary to the essence of World of Warcraft
and provides an advantage over other players. In addition, use of this
software can lead to exploitation and destabilization of the World of
Warcraft server economy. As such, this account has been closed and will
not be reopened under any circumstances. The recurring subscription on
the account has been disabled to prevent further charges.

Please review the World of Warcraft Terms of Use at
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/legal/termsofuse.html, which you
accepted when you installed World of Warcraft and established the account(s).
Section 2, Paragraph C details the limitations of game play
modifications and use of any third-party or “packet sniffing”‚software. In
addition, Section 3, Paragraph C, parts iii and iv restrict the use of any
hack, scripting or macroing software which obtains information from
World of Warcraft to gain a competitive advantage over other players.

This means that not only did I not move up a few levels, but the entire character that I have had for 18 months is gone.

So, what do you think Gamepal’s stance is on this? I’m sure you can guess, I’m just SOL. Now when I go to the chat, I’m blown off by being told, “You should have read our terms and conditions before signing up.”

But before I signed up, I logged on to their chat and asked them if there was any chance I could get in trouble from Blizzard for this. There response was just that it was going to be someone who is very good at leveling playing my character, and that it was not a violation. But as it ends up, the violation I’m actually being banned for is that their player was using some sort of automated software to play the game. Which I guess explains how they can level up so quickly.

I did some further digging and discovered this post on RipOffReport.com:
http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff215985.htm

According to this gentleman, he purchased a ready made character account for $400, and less then a month later, the account was re-claimed by the owner. Once again Gamepal’s response to this was that he is SOL.

It seems Gamepal is good at taking money, they offer many ways to pay them through Google, Paypal, etc…, but not so good at following through on their promise to deliver the goods.

I have sent emails to them, which will obviously fall on deaf ears. So at this point all I can do is provide a cautionary tale to those who are considering using Gamepal. If you are considering making a purchase through them, be aware that everyone I have heard from, and seen from my research has been screwed by them. I cannot find any happy customers. And when they do take your money, Paypal really doesn’t offer my recourse in the situation. My advice, do not use the Gamepal service at all.

  1. Luna,

Since it’s now been 9 Days and nothing. This is what you do…

Call your Credit Card company or Bank and tell them that you ordered something online and the company is refusing to cancel and refund your money. They have never delivered what you ordered and that you’ve now been googling them and find out that they have a history of doing this to other companies.

Your Credit Card company and/or Bank will return your money back to you.

  2. yeah so gamepal now says under the order tracking that my order was canceled and i was refunded my money. NEVER got a penny back, they stole my money and now wont answer emails and threatened to ban me from live chat if i return

  3. Yes i purchased an eve online account from gamepal.I went there becouse my friend had told me that he had purchased gold and accounts from them so i took his word for it i normaly look into somthing before I do somthing but this time i didnt. Man i wish i had this time. They wasted no time calling me to get my money then it took a day to get my account info then to my surprise the info dont work. so i email them they tell me they will reset the password or give me a new account.Yet four days later all I get is an email that they have forwarded it to the accounts manager for the second time. They wasted no time getting my money yet it seems they dont care when they give you somthing that doesnt work after i post this im going to ripoff report im not letting them take advantage of me.There promise 24hrs or less I wander if they have even read that there self.

  4. Ok this is day six and nothing has changed except they refuse to respond to my emails now.I realy think there needs to be something done about this company. If anyone has anything in the works on getting this company shutdown please let me know.Oh and have done some research if enough people complain to paypal they will do an investigation into the company dont do it over the web contact them over the phone.
If anyone else has any other info that can help me get my cash back or get what i had payed for please let me know. All i wanted from this company is what i payed for nothing more. Now i have no eve online account or money to show for it

  5. I ordered alvl 70 account and these blogs are scaring me alot. Its supposed to come by today at the latest. Is gamepal really a scam or did some people get things.

  6. Alex – I think the general thinking here is that you take a significant risk when dealing with Gamepal. Hopefully you get what you paid for.

  7. I personally have not had any problems with the company. I think the company just has issues with timely responses right now. I have the same issues myself when I call cingular so I am use to slow responses but they did assist me when I did have an issue after a day or two. Most customers here with the exception of a few seem to have issues resolved, but just are impatient so post on mr shulls blog.

Like Ed said, there is a risk, but I think the risk is worth it for their price.

I think Gamepal/Gamewar is going a good enough job on shutting themselves down. 😀

Gamepal is not a scam company or they would be out of business. It’s just that they have alot of issues and their customer service or what they call it, is almost non-existant.

So in Gamepals defenese they are not a Scammer site but they just don’t practice safe account selling. Like nearly every account selling site, they buy the game from the customer and sell it right back to you. No security!

So just very high risk accounts and what I recommend as soon as possible if the game allows you to transfer the toon to a new account do it! Then it’s yours and very little risk of loosing it to a recall.

  9. they gave me my account witha llv 70 but they also promised it with about 2200 gold but it currently has 2 gold and they wont give me my secret answer. I want a refund. THe character is great. I love it but i think im just going to blow 300$.

  10. Ok, I have been reading alot on this and figured… why not test it, so I have submitted a CoH account that is quite new and am going to check

    1) When they accept it if I get my cash
    2) When I get the cash I will order something and see if it works
    3) This will also help me verify their “24/7” live support

I will do my best to keep you updated, as said this process should take between 1-7 days and I will post updates of all those days if possible.

  11. I am unsure if double posting isn’t allowed here, but it goes into day 1 and from what I have seen so far from selling the account is that the live support is pretty friendly (even though it may get worse as it goes) and they seem willing to help solve the problem. Though the process for it is taking a bit longer than it was estimated it should be finished shorter than the 7 days I thought it would take.

  12. Timely responses? 3 months I have been waiting for a made4play account. They make you believe its just taking them a little bit longer so that you wont do anything about it. Do the smart thing, go learn to level the way they do it. Botting. I have leveled 2 70’s on wow since i put in my order. Save your money, bot it yourself.

  13. **Whoops When i said he had gotten on my account, i meant he had gotten on a different character, one he wasnt supposed to be on. My main! Sweet

  14. Paid for a level 70 account over 24 hours ago. The FAQ says usually info is sent in minutes, but with problems can take up to 24 hours. 24 hours has come and gone, i’m going to call paypal and my bank and try to get my 400$ back.

Then i’m gonna go talk to this FSF guy and see what he can hook me up with 🙂

  15. Well, all these days and no response, so I have given up on this and would agree to say that it is a scam… It seems that live support is “there” when they want to be and you can spend hours on end if not days looking for them. All in all it doesn’t seem to be going to great.

  16. Well been three weeks now i dont even get a response from email anymore. The live help has no purpose except to tell me to email the account department. And the account department has no purpose except to not anser my emails anymore. I hope people come here before they use gamepal or gamewar it will save them money and there account.

  17. Well want to see if anyone out there has a decent eve online account that they dont use or want anymore if you do id be more than happy to pay for the transfer.Id offer cash but gamepal took mine 🙁

  18. I was scared when I saw this thread after I bought an account. However, I have no complaints got it as soon as I was verified. Hope that helps the doubters hehehehe

  19. I seen this blog too late. I purchased an WOW account from gamewar, everything was smooth till I logged on and one of the level 70 characters was missing. I contacted them through email and they said I could pick another equal valued account if I like. I said that if I can just get a character transfer in a couple of days, I would be fine with the account. Nothing happened. I Decided to keep the account anyways since the main that I wanted was what I was looking for so I waited the 30 days to get the rest of the account details. Well, that is were I’m stuck at now I have email them over 10 times and they have only responded to two of them both saying the same thing “I will forward this to the account managers”, but after that I never get anything email back. I bought this account thinking it would be no problem to get that info so I could transfer to a server my friends are one. I was wrong. Long story short DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. Now if they ever do help me I will let you all know. I will only wait a couple more days, till I contact my card company and have the charged reversed. Then I will also take back the account. I have just filed reports to ripoff report and the bbb.

  20. Hello again, a couple days from the time I wrote my first post, I did get a message back giving me the secret Q&A, and the last name on the account, finally. They still failed to give me control of the email. Which means I’m still stuck, can’t transfer. Yes I know with the info they have provided that I could call blizzard and get the email changed, but if any of the information they gave is wrong it could get the account banned and they will not cover it. I all ready confirmed the secret Q&A, but their is know way to confirm the last name. So I will let you know how long it takes this time or if I had to go the other route.

  21. So they sent me an email about my account that i had sold over 4 months ago. They said that, my password was reset or changed. which i had no clue on. Heres what else they said.

If this account is not returned to us as soon as possible, we will report the account to our GM who we communicate with daily via email who will disable the account permeantly. Any other accounts associated to you as well will be disabled if we locate them. Then we will be forwarding this claim over to a collections department based on the information we have recorded.

When does GamePal have there own “GM” and when can he disable other account that you could own?

I think this is the most redculious thing i have ever heard.

  22. hells bells –

I did not find this site until after I used gamepal. Ill fill you in on how it goes. Other sites have said good things. I asked for a 1-70. Let’s see if it is ban city or I make it through.

If you got the last name that’s all you need to transfer a toon.

    Go buy a BattleChest Set.

Create a new account with the SAME “FIRST/LAST NAME!”

Creat a new Gmail account and use a phone # out of the phone book! Do not use your old phonoe or email because it will link the 2 first/last names and possible get the account closed.

Now after creating the account and upgrading it to TBC.

Now you’ll want to make sure that your toon does not have any items in the AH, bids or mail. If you have any of the 3 you need to cancel all AH items and pickup all mail. If you have bids you have to wait till they expire before you can transfer.

Now after your toon is preped and ready.

Log into the old account and start the PCT.

    Select the server
Select the toon you want to move (Click Move)
Now check the box that says to another account. Enter the new account name.

Click continue (i think that’s the button)

“Prey for no Red boxes. :D”

If it’s all good you should be on a screen asking for the SQA of the “NEW Account!”

    Enter your SQA!

Now give it your Credit Card and transfer…

Note: If you have not been on your account in over 1 hour. Then the transfer will take 15 minutes or less!
If you have been on your account within the last hour then it will take about 60 minutes because a 1 hour cooldown applies to all transfers!

After waiting for 15mins to 1 hour.

Log back into the old account, click on PCT – Transactions.

Hit the Green Go Button and confirm transfer!

    Bam you are done. 😀

Congratulations you now have a secure toon on an account that’s in your control. 😀

Just ignore their Threats they are alot of hot air. Just reply back and ask how you can help? That you have not recalled the account and there’s no reason for them to be hostile.

  24. I also wish I would have seen this before making my purchase. I bought a Dark Age of Camelot account a week ago, and still haven’t heard anything about the account itself. I figured that with such a smaller game, there shouldn’t be issues, but thats not the case. I went through the phone call, like everyone else, and was told that I would receive my account information within the next 48 hours. After the 48 came and went, I got on to the online help site, where he just copy/pasted text from the FAQ, and didn’t actually offer any online help. I was then told that I would receive the account information within 72 hours from time of purchase. Well, that time came and went, and I waited 2 extra days, just to be sure. I sent an email to them again, asking for the information and got an auto-response email telling me to be patient.

My order number is 116371, and I would very much appreciate my account that I purchased, though from the sounds of it I’m not likely to get it. Does FSF do Dark Age of Camelot accounts? Has anyone used them and can validate their claims?

  25. Here is my story:

I purchased an account from the buyatoon.com website (yes, they are also a branch of gamepal) for $384.99 on February 6th, 2008. I recieved the verification phone call and was told it would take from 1-3 days to recieve my log in information because their automated system was down. I recieved an email a little over a day later containing the supposive log in information to the account I purchased. When I tried to log in, POL tells me incorrect ID or Password, preventing me from accessing the account. I immediately notified the Gamepal instant customer service, and all they can tell me is to email their accounts department at [email protected]. I have sent their accounts department close to 50 emails, begging to have my issue resolved. All of my emails have been ignored, and all customer service can tell me is to email them once a day and be patient. It has been 10 days now and I havent heard a word reguarding the status of my order/account. I do not want to pick a fight with gamepal, I just want what my hard earned money has paid for. I plan to file a complaint with paypal, the Better Business Beaureau, my bank and If neccessary, explore my legal stand point. I will involve Playonline/Square Enix and anyone else who can be of use. I will post my experience with Gamepal on all known gamer websites such as egamingsupply, ckgaming, and allakhazam. I dont want to make trouble if I dont have to, but please believe that I have the resources to do so. The only advice I can give to anyone who is looking to buy from Gamepal is to be prepared to take a loss in the event that something like this happens to you. From my research, it seems that this incident is a VERY common occurance with this company. In most cases Paypal will not refund your money, so dont count on that being a safty net. I wish everyone luck in getting what Gamepal has evidently stolen from these hard working, paying customers.

  26. Well its been over a month now and still no working account info i think im going to call a lawyer and see what i can do and if there is somthing that can be done im going to try and get all the people together that they have riped off and make this a big deal. This company has stolen from people they should be punished for it.

  27. Damn, count me as another person who would have liked to have heard about this blog before purchasing two Everquest accounts at gamepal. It really hasn’t been very long since I placed the order (24 hours since being verified), but of course I was drawn to the delivery in minutes guarantee that I heard about on the FAQ.

It appears as if hope for a good outcomes is a futile endeavor, but nevertheless, I will keep waiting, and will keep you all updated.

  29. nathaniel – I don’t think you’re going to get a response. People threaten them with lawyers all the time. But honestly, anyone who is this upset over losing this little money is not someone who is going to pay a lawyer a couple grand to sue them.

Your best bet is to try to get your money back through Paypal.

  30. For those of your having issues getting your money back… Here is how you do it!

**You must have use a Credit Card or Bank Account**

If you used PayPal Credit you are screwed. Virtual Goods are not covered by PayPal and you will never win.

    ==
Now call your bank or your credit card company and tell them that you did not authorize these charges. You only have about 60-180 days depending on your bank or credit card company.

But once you do that they will give you your money back. Case Closed…the only time you will loose is if you keep doing this and the credit companies figure out you are scamming people and thats Fraud!

So only do this ONCE unless your credit card is really stolen.

    ====
I know I just told scammers how to scam but it’s the only way to get your money back from dishonest people and companies.

  31. Well all i have had a lawyer look into this i could sue the crap out of these guys problem is finding the person to sue all the companys that gamepal owns are all under diffrent peoples names and the address they have listed as there home of operation isnt there anymore so anyone out there know where these guys are at now so i can push this farther

  32. Hi guys,

Herewith a post with my bought service. The service is called LELELINK (www.lelelink.com) they are just bizar:

Please wait for a site operator to respond.
You are now chatting with ‘Charles’
    Charles: Hi
    you: hi
Charles: how may i help you ?
you: I received your service and now this happened:
you: This account has been found to have employed third party software designed to automate many aspects of the World of Warcraft game play experience.
Charles: what your character name pls
    you: my account is closed
    you: pellemik
    Charles: ah ?
    Charles: sure ?
    you: wow
    you: yes
Charles: we have played your account 2 hours only
you: yes but before that i got banned
    you: during my order
you: and now it is closed?
Charles: when your account got banned ?
you: during this last order when your service was playing
    Charles: ah.
    Charles: it was suspended
Charles: you have got it back before
you: yes, got it back and asked your guys if their was any bot involved in your service
you: the answer was no we have good reallife players
    Charles: ah.
    Charles: yes
you: so I asked to continue my 2 hours
Charles: we are the real people during the service
you: and now 1 day later i am banned
you: or lets say: as such, this account has been closed and will not be reopened under any circumstances.
Charles: we dont know what happen now
you: I would react the same
you: luckely for us Blizzard is giving a clear message why this account has been banned.
    you: ?
Charles: we are very sorry .
Charles: we dont know why your account banned
Charles: we playing your account 2 hours only at Tue
you: yeah and with a bot
    you: that is clear
    Charles: no
Charles: we are the real player
    you: sure
    Charles: sure
you: so why does blizzard then say this?
    you: for fun
Charles: you can going to check it with blizzard
you: done that and the answer is already given and simple: This account has been found to have employed third party software designed to automate many aspects of the World of Warcraft game play experience. Such software runs contrary to the essence of World of Warcraft and provides an advantage over other players. In addition, use of this software can lead to exploitation and destabilization of the World of Warcraft server economy. As such, this account has been closed and will not be reopened under any circumstances. The recurring subscription on the account has been disabled to prevent further charges.
you: so your real deal player is using some realdeal third party software
    you: ?
    Charles: no
Charles: we are real people palying your account
    Charles: no any bot
you: you can call it what you want, maybe you are using some other software then a plain bot
    Charles: no
you: the thing is that I will never use a bot since i have enough money to buy your service
you: so it can not be me
Charles: we dont using any bot for our customer’s account
Charles: pls going to contact the blizzard and ask them what happen about your account
you: you are making me a bit angry, and you do not want this, did you not read my message above?
you: This is their answer: this account has been closed and will not be reopened under any circumstances.
you: So why should I contact them again and again and again
you: Blizzard is giving me the clear reason
    you: YOU

As you can see they are playing stupid.

  33. -Pellemik-

From my information Gamepal is all bots for World of Warcraft. They own innerspace which is a platform for many bots and they have their own custom bot that they use.

So if you don’t want your account botted don’t use Gamepal or any of their other companies.

Also they aren’t playing stupid, they are oversea’s labor that doesn’t understand english very well or play the game. So they don’t have an answer to the question and sometimes don’t have inteligent answers.

If US Labor was cheap we would all be using it instead. 😀

Good Luck. I’ve talked with Eric co-owner of Gamepal when they wanted to do business with us. And I even asked him what they do to help fight being sued and they hide themselves with many companies more or less.

Making it very difficult to find the correct people to sue and if you did sue someone you would most likely be the wrong company.

This is a common practice with many sites if they are even a legal business at all.

  34. wow, i was about to sell 1 of my toons from eve online to gamepal.been fussing over it for last 2 days. was about to xfer it over and on a hunch i typed in gamepal on yahoo and found this blog.

im def not going to take that chance. (as im typing i still have their sell info order window open). 3 years of playing to most likely lose that char.money and prob get my other acct banned NOPE….

    not worth the chance.

still trying to find somewhere to sell either a char/account or isk. found a isk buying company called mogs but been so preoccupied with gamepal i havent looked at mogs yet.

any1 have any info re: any eve sites that may buy toons or isk??

  35. Now i have been hearing alot of bad reviews of this site, let me tell you about http://www.mogmine.com they use real people trust me i know cuz i have had about 3 accounts banned from other companies. the speak nuff english to get by. it has been the best company i have ever dealt with and they do everything right, no complains from me, so if u dont wanna get ur account banned now u know where to go.

  36. I’m looking heavily in to littlepeon2004.com… can someone PLEASE tell me if I’m going to get screwed? There does not appear to be any reviews of this site other than the comment made on this blog nearly a year ago… HELP! bardATcomputer21.biz

  37. Soo…

http://www.theunknowngamer.com/ is ALSO based on Raleigh NC and claims the same features as forsaken farmers….

i dunno about you but this reaks gamepal, they also even use godaddy for their domains and this time they werent stupid enough to put names… all the whois shows is company names repeated 10 times everywhere.

ALSO seems from ALL this threads i could only find TWO sites that are not scammers on accounts and offer full REAL refunds on services.

    One is forsaken farmers
    http://www.forsaken-farmers.com

    The otherone seems to be:
    http://www.rpgreseller.com
But sadly they insist that they are currently WAY backordered from all the orders and are not taking in any new ones. heck their site even says “We can schedule for next month if you are willing to wait.” lol… well i gotta give em props for being very honest, i bet game pal has prolly this same issue but instead of stopping sales they just keep selling then “ignore” when people call asking WTF is going on….

soo, SFS since you seem the only damn honest powerleveling site in this damn planet, and from my personal experience in games can tell you know what you are doing/saying/selling whats your dibs on RPGseller.com? id love to think theres more than just one site in the world that doesnt cheat customers….

PS i gotta give props to you on the buying an account/insta-transfering the chars to another account to safeguard them from recovery by the original owner, i actually did that before and didnt think anyone else did this at all, im sure this is why you have 0% recall on all your acccounts and you will always have 0%…. all accounts you sell are really new accounts you made and had the chars transfered into, thus being 100% imposible by the original owner to recover the character, and all customers will always be happy with your site/service god damn brilliant man… you are one awesome buisnessman and i wish i could shake your hand, im trully amazed someone actually came up with this as a viable buisness venture.

  38. Xionicfire,

Theunknowngamer – I know the owner and he’s a great guy, just ran into alot of issues and seems to be getting back on his feet.

Rpgresellers – I know the owner and seems like a legit guy. But we’ve never done much business together and we both are to busy with our own businesses to chat much these days.

But they seem to be on the up and up and like I said, I’ve never heard anything bad about them.

FYI: Godaddy, is #1 in the industry. So almost all US based companies will use this company as their hosting and/or Domain Registration company.
    ===
0% Risk service, we are finishing up the last of the orders for that. I’m not sure if I really want to offer it again. It’s so demanding and the risk is high if there is a closure wave or something. So I think I might just wait for a bit and see how things play out with Gamepal and their version of it.

    ===
On a side note, you can always order our Low Risk service. 😀 It not a 100% Guarantee but the safest hand leveling you can get outside of paying your kids to level your account for you. 😀

  39. I purchased a FFXI Game account from gamepal 4 days ago, they never sent me an order ID for it and my credit card was charged, their live support personnel keep telling me to contact [email protected] and I’ve already sent them about 8 emails with no reply from them at all. They’ve taken my $440 and have not provided the goods they promised, nor they have ever contacted me at all for anything since the order was placed. This is obviously a scam.

  40. Ramon,

Call your Credit Card company and file a chargeback. It’s no different then you buying something online from eBay and the person never sending you the item. The longer you wait the harder it is to get your money back.

  41. Thanks FSF, I just called them today and issued a charge back. I have mixed feelings of anger and disappointment, I mean, these guys are making a living out of stealing money from people, and on top of that nobody can touch them. I wish i would have read this blog before I ever approached gamepal and their lies, we should probably start a Wiki where ripped off people can log their cases.
