Gamepal gets accounts banned

Gamepal gets account banned

Update: I’m challenging Gamepal to prove they don’t get every account banned.  Checkout my Gamepal challenge to see if they accept.

I am an infrequent World of Warcraft player. I usually just play with my son when we have some free time in the evenings. But because he plays a lot more than I get the chance, I’m always lagging behind in levels. So when someone told me about a service through a company called Gamepal that will have someone else play your character when you’re not playing, that sounded great. For a few bucks I could have them play my character and catch up to my son’s level.

I hired the company to take my level 27 rouge to level 40. A small jump by the looks of most of their orders. I paid $49 for this service through Paypal.

I checked my account the next day, and I was already at level 30. That’s much better than I could have done. But on the following day I got a frantic call from my cousin, the person who refered me to Gamepal. He said I should cancel the service ASAP because his WoW account was just banned. So, when I returned home, I checked my account and saw that I was still active at level 34. I logged onto Gamepal’s chat system and canceled my account. I also quickly changed my password so they could no longer log in.

The next day I went to log in to play with my son, and sure enough I got the following message:

You World of Warcraft account has been closed.

I checked my email and saw this discouraging information

Offense: Use of Third Party Automation Software

This account has been found to have employed third party software
designed to automate many aspects of the World of Warcraft game play
experience. Such software runs contrary to the essence of World of Warcraft
and provides an advantage over other players. In addition, use of this
software can lead to exploitation and destabilization of the World of
Warcraft server economy. As such, this account has been closed and will
not be reopened under any circumstances. The recurring subscription on
the account has been disabled to prevent further charges.

Please review the World of Warcraft Terms of Use at
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/legal/termsofuse.html, which you
accepted when you installed World of Warcraft and established the account(s).
Section 2, Paragraph C details the limitations of game play
modifications and use of any third-party or “packet sniffing”‚software. In
addition, Section 3, Paragraph C, parts iii and iv restrict the use of any
hack, scripting or macroing software which obtains information from
World of Warcraft to gain a competitive advantage over other players.

This means that not only did I not move up a few levels, but the entire character that I have had for 18 months is gone.

So, what do you think Gamepal’s stance is on this? I’m sure you can guess, I’m just SOL. Now when I go to the chat, I’m blown off by being told, “You should have read our terms and conditions before signing up.”

But before I signed up, I logged on to their chat and asked them if there was any chance I could get in trouble from Blizzard for this. There response was just that it was going to be someone who is very good at leveling playing my character, and that it was not a violation. But as it ends up, the violation I’m actually being banned for is that their player was using some sort of automated software to play the game. Which I guess explains how they can level up so quickly.

I did some further digging and discovered this post on RipOffReport.com:
http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff215985.htm

According to this gentleman, he purchased a ready made character account for $400, and less then a month later, the account was re-claimed by the owner. Once again Gamepal’s response to this was that he is SOL.

It seems Gamepal is good at taking money, they offer many ways to pay them through Google, Paypal, etc…, but not so good at following through on their promise to deliver the goods.

I have sent emails to them, which will obviously fall on deaf ears. So at this point all I can do is provide a cautionary tale to those who are considering using Gamepal. If you are considering making a purchase through them, be aware that everyone I have heard from, and seen from my research has been screwed by them. I cannot find any happy customers. And when they do take your money, Paypal really doesn’t offer my recourse in the situation. My advice, do not use the Gamepal service at all.

  1. Don’t use companies with bad reputations or that don’t offer a full refund when an account is banned. My powerleveling studio always refunds except when a customer gets their own account banned by doing something stupid like logging into the game to bump us offline and check their leveling status instead of using the armory. (Bliz sees that and nails you.) Also… don’t use a company that will get you banned. The industry ban rate is really high, easily 20% . My ban rate is about 5%, one in twenty. I’m not doing anything magically different, I just give people what they deserve and don’t use bots or practices that result in bans. Bottom line, check their rep with a few google searches.

The virtual trade and services industry is awash with problems just like yours. Your experience is not unusual because there’s thousands more with the same experience. They just didn’t have a blog to get the word out.

I’m really impressed to find this blog and the follow ups because when I’m not making game news by leading the industry, I read it.

Let’s make some news right now. Gamepal got you banned, argued, and refused to really handle the situation like a real business should do business. Especially with someone that has the ability to really share their experience with ohters.

You pick your favorite class and server, I’ll give you a level 70. Compliments of rpgreseller.com -In exchange, you post one blog about your experience. If we screw up, say we screwed up. (I certainly won’t threaten you like gamepal did.) Just say what you feel. I want to show you and your readers that there are good companies in the virtual goods and services market. You just have to find them.

  2. I struggled with the idea of posting Klancy’s comment here. One on hand I don’t want this to turn into a place for a lot of companies I can’t vouch for pitching their services. On the other hand Klancy has written what seems to be an earnest comment that talks a little about how he feels a company in his space should behave. And the fact that he admits that even he occasionally gets an account banned I think lends to his creditability. Let’s face it, it’s skirting the WoW system, and if you get caught you’re screwed. But obviously the company should at least refund you. Thanks for the comment Klancy.

  3. While a lot of online gaming sites are rather shady with questionable practices, here is the bottom line.

You logged onto the account while it was being leveled. You flagged yourself as a person being power leveled. YOU got the account banned.

If you buy a car and wreck it the next day, you don’t get your money back from the auto dealer. If you buy a car and it has engine problems the next day, you can get your money back. In this situation, you are the person who wrecked your car.

So, as cute as it is to pretend that you are a crusading victim here with a just cause, the problem sat between your computer chair and your computer. It wasn’t bots. It wasn’t south Asian power levelers. It was you.

Its a shame, too. For as many legit complaints there are about online companies, you have 5 times as many computer illiterate nincompoops who love to throw around buzz words to try to make up for their own failings.

You make the interweb difficult for the rest of us, good sir.

  4. So I guess Capn’s theory is that all of us who were banned did it to ourselves. I love the people who post about how stupid I must be. Just for your info Capn, I’m not sure I can be referred to as computer illiterate. And I really don’t think I got myself banned, nor do I think most of the other people posting here did it to themselves.

I will admit to not being a WoW expert. If someone with more experience thinks they can better handle things with Gamepal, than they should do what they like. Just be aware that if you run into an issue where they screw up, they are not going to refund your money.

  5. Capn, what you say is true, if they are powerleveling your account and you log onto armory or log onto that account It will be banned. I knew this before ordering power leveling from http://www.gamepal.com. Thats why I ordered an account where they make your account in your name and email and then level it up. This reduces the risk on the ban during leveling greatly.

I dont think you understand that currently when you order something from gamepal.com now they do nothing. They dont even make your account you ordered if you bought an account from there website they do not give you it. If you sell something to them they take it and do not pay you.

I can see that this blog is about http://www.gamepal.com and I can have a say in the service provided because I was a victim. Unless you have ordered something from them I don’t think you can say much.

Power level companys should (some do) tell you do not log onto your account or the forums while they are leveling it due to the switching in ip’s. Gamepal does not warn you about this and even if they did they dont do anything! You pay them they take your money then lead you on for a few days then ignore you… forcing you to charge back the money. I am sure they have a way around charge backs I will see if I get refunded and notify others if all goes well with the charge back :).

  6. No, not everyone who gets banned did it to themselves. As I stated in my post, there are plenty of legitimate complaints against online companies. However, they get lost in the piles of foolish customers that mess up themselves and don’t have the cahones to man up to it. Unfortunately, WoW appears to be flooded with these types of people with its increasing popularity.

On the other hand, there are also plenty of customers who get banned during the power leveling process, and they did nothing themselves that caused it. Pointless complaints by self-destructive customers (as documented by the author of this blog) only serve to make it more difficult to help legitimate problems.

And I most certainly do not believe that GamePal handles everything as well as they should as a customer provider (I probably know more about this than the average customer).

And as per GamePal not telling you NOT to log on to your own account, I found this tidbit in 2 minutes looking at their site:

If you would like to see the level of your character, you can visit the Armory (http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com). The Armory will have the most current character
    information.

For your own safety, we may change your password during the leveling process to prevent you from attempting to access the account. Please do not
mistake this as us “hijacking” your account; access will be restored for you upon completion. We ask that you refrain from logging into the account
to check on your character. This can only be detrimental to the leveling process because it can slow down our levelers, put your account at risk due
to multiple IPs in a short period, and create account access struggles between you and the leveler.

That was listed right below the little “I Agree” checkbox that you are *required* to check before moving to the next step. By clicking the box, you acknowledge that you have read the agreement.

  7. **I personally am in the process of proving that I never received what I paid for and opening a dispute, don’t turn around and burn me for propoganda or whatever.**
    Mark-
It sounds like you’re having problems with GamePal’s new “Made4Play” system which is glitchy and slow as hell and totally separate from their PL department. If you go and ask the PL people about it, they point you straight to accounts. From what I understand, Accounts, Power Leveling, and Currency are all being run by totally different people and even have totally separate PayPal accounts, so having an issue with a custom account isn’t the same as having an issue with a power leveling order. It’s stupid as hell, just charge back the accounts morons and place a power leveling order, Kristi and her bunch are very nice. No, I’m not rooting for the company because as Capn stated, a lot of gaming sites are very shady and I personally despise what they’ve done to in-game economies, but at the very least as a consumer you should contact the company before placing your order to determine what the “lay of the land” is so you can make an informed purchase. Unfortunately, sometimes even that isn’t enough to be safe, though.

  8. Today I get a email from gamepal.com with a coupon code, worth $330. I am very happy that they did refund me.(they also added $30 to the refund) 🙂 Altho I did contact the BBB and filed a complaint against them shortly after I done that I got a email from gamepal with the coupon code. Maybe gamepal.com is a not a bad company.

I have now ordered a pre-made account with the coupon refund :), I hope all goes well and I will keep you guys up to date on whats happening.

    All the best Mark.

  9. Mark, that’s great news. Hopefully Ryan will be posting some good news as well.

Of course the coupon code is not really a coupon until you get what you’re paying for, so I’ll be anxious to see Mark finally get what he’s owed. So if you’re reading this Gamepal, and I know you do, you may want to make sure Mark’s transaction goes smoothly.

  10. They sent me the user name and password, it works. 🙂 There is a problem tho when I got the account it had no payment method on it or gamecard and was locked. When I try to add a payment method or gamecard it comes up with a webpage saying Challenged Payment. Maybe blizzard has locked this account or something I am unsure. I have sent a email to gamepal telling me what do I need to do. 🙂

  11. I am having a long string of problems with gamepal now. I am not happy that they have now sold me a frozen account that I cannot reactivate. They have sold me an account that I can log into, all characters are there aswell because I checked by going into the new Change Name option blizzard now has it gives a list off all chars on that account and they are all there. But the account is frozen and has no time on it. When I try to add time it does not allow me because blizzard blocks it. I have clicked on Add Gamecard and Add Subscription both bring up the same error and doesnt even give me the option to type a gamecard or visa in. I have emailed gamepal.com and I hope they will sort this all out.

They really do need to fix there service and products.

    Mark

  12. Wow, imagine the thought that goes into this on their end. Gamepal really does like parting with their money. They are true masters at trying to delay people. Keep fighting Mark, hopefully you’ll get things resolved.

  13. Sorry; correction of a typo: “equivalent value, PLUS $10 for the trouble, so I could make my account purchase faster.”

    I hope that clarifies.

  14. I’m unable to post an update here. Not sure why. But my problem isn’t over yet. I received a credit so far, but not a monetary refund.

  15. I emailed gamepal and told them that I received a frozen account, I got a reply saying they will forward it to the manager. Its been 24 hours now and I haven’t got a reply. I decided to go back to gamepal.com and search for the account I bought, and what a surprise the account I bought is back up for sale. When I bought the account it was taken down. They must sell you a frozen account take it down from the website for 24 hours and put it back up again for the next victim of the scam to buy it.

I do have the details of the account such as the Login Name and all the names of the characters, I may email blizzard confessing to buying that account and telling them its being used by gamepal.com as a scam. They will investigate and prolly close the account for account sharing. 🙂

  16. Okay so I’ll try updating, hopefully this post goes through.

I was only able to get a credit from Gamepal, they seem to ignore any attempts to get a monetary refund. However, they did give me a bonus credit on top of my original purchase price. Now obviously I’d rather not do business with this company again, however, no point letting the credit waste away. So I tried buying a different account.

Guess what? The account information was not correct, AGAIN. I bet you didn’t see that coming.

Anyways, looks like this whole fiasco gets to start all over again.

Also, I’d like to point out the ‘Managers’ have stopped replying to this blog. I wonder why?

    I’ll keep you guys updated,
    Ryan

  17. Yeah, i bought a custom account from gamepal, supposely 14-28 days to level 1-60, on day 40 and only level 20, i went ahead and turned mine into dispute with paypal, cause i could feel the bull they were trying to feed me on a credit and getting an account off there website. First of all thats not what i paid for. The account is not in my control, does not have my name on it. So they could just freeze it and sell it again. And then they pretty much told me thats it you dont get your money back. So im willing to see what paypal has to say since i made it within there 45 day notice. What i find funny is how on there website it says “100% Satisfaction Guarantee Or Your Money Back” and they seem to not ever want to give you your money back even when they are in the wrong. by far. Here is the site address where they say the money back, http://www.gamepal.com/central/buildaccount . WARN ALL. DO NOT USE GAMEPAL LEARN FROM OUT EXPERIENCE.

  18. @Stephen

If you used a credit card through Paypal, call the bank that issued your card, and reverse the charges. Tell them that the service you ordered was not as advertised. It’s also wise to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Eastern North Carolina. That sometimes gets their attention.

  19. If you guys want a safe and secure powerlevel, then check out littlepeon2004. They are great they quest you to your desired level so you get that nice rep. I got mine PL and I was pretty much exalted and revered with all the main factions. This did not happen when I was using other PL providers and I would get banned from other providers. I highly recommend Littlepeon2004, I know how it feels to lose your account, I lost my 70NE hunter, whom I spent a lot of time on. Littlepeon2004 is the only site that I have been happy with and the only one whom I trust with my account. On top of that they are frikin fast levelers, 51-58 in l.5 days, no bots.

  20. So another update.

On my second attempt to get an account, due to inability of Gamepal to return my money and only refund a credit, they still have not provided me with either a refund or correct account information.

I’m really mind boggled as to how these people actually run a company and get any business? The legitimacy of these people is entirely void.

Selling illegal products is one thing, but pretending to sell illegal products and not even producing the items to their consumers is another.

If I don’t receive anything soon I’m off to the BBB and Rip-off Report for sure. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but hell, what other options do I have?

I can’t believe that this company is still up and running, it really does boggle the mind!!

  21. Capn,

A lot of the PL companies hire chinese or Eastern Euros to do the PL and that’s a dead give away. Blizzard knows this, they’re not dumb. Maybe if these guys would stop using cheap labor people PLing wouldn’t get their ACC banned.

  22. This will be my final post on this blog because I have come to a conclusion about gamepal.

I will review my order from start to finish, making it easier for the new people reading this blog.

On the 4th of November 2007, I ordered a “Create Account (made4play)” from GAMEWAR, It cost $299. This type of order they should create an account for you, then make your toon, then level it up to 60. When its finished it should have blue armor and a epic mount. When ordering it you also get to pick three names to call your toon.

I waited a week and I wanted a update, I spoke with live chat and they tell me that live chat cannot help with account or power leveling issues, please email [email protected]. I emailed the accounts department, when I get a reply from them it always says something comforting like “Thanks Mark, I have forwarded this to an manager, Please wait until you get a reply”.

I wait… another week no reply from the “manager”, I contact the accounts department again about it, and they say
    “Sorry for the delay
Mark, I have set this issue to priority, you should get a response shortly”

I wait another few days with no reply from the manager. At this stage
I check armory for my toon names, strange I cannot find them when my order should almost be finished now.

I get a reply from the accounts team after two weeks saying that “the “made4play” orders are delayed right now sorry for the delay” in that email they offered me “on-site” credit to buy a pre-made account.

I emailed them saying I would like to take this offer, the next day I get a coupon code worth $330, I already had a pre-made account in mind to buy, I logon to gamepal and order a level 63 Rogue, I use my coupon and it works, I wait one day and get a email with the account information.

Great now I have a good account, but now I try the login name and password it says I need to add time, I already knew what was wrong now, but I try anyway. I log into the account management on the blizzard website to add a payment method, I try adding a gamecard like they told me to and I cant! What a surprise. Blizzard have frozen the account until someone gives them the owners information. Which gamepal does not give, and they refuse to give. They basically sold me an account thats useless to me. I check back on the website and they have the 63 Rogue back up for sale for a higher price, I know for a fact they took it down when I bought it because I checked to see 😀 they put it back up 24 hours later for someone else to buy it.

    DO NOT USE GAMEPAL.COM, GAMEWAR.COM, OLOOT.COM

  23. Oh I forgot to add if you are a victim of gamepal.com or any other power leveling/accounts scam, dont let them get away with it, contact the BBB file a compliant then contact your bank/paypal and charge back the money!

  24. SUPPORT TEAM RESPONSE

Hey guys, sorry for the wait on replies here.

RYAN: It looks like you ordered a LOTRO account recently. Please let us know if you have any issues with your order.

MARK: I need your order number. We can resolve this with you, just I don’t see any emails from a Mark that still need to be sent.

SC: We don’t use asian levelers, that is the issue. Forsaken-Farmers can back us up on that.

Littlepeon2004: Your company is based in china, I doubt advertising your site will help your sales, so why would you post?

Stephen: We informed you of the delay on Build An Account. We had to triple the size of our computers, but if your issue is still not resolved, let us have your order number so we can assist you.

  25. Hey Support Team,

I’m sorry, but when I read your response to me I literally laughed out loud (lol’d). I’ve sent I think roughly 5 e-mails asking for the correct LOTRO account information, or a refund, to be sent over, and it’s gone ignored. You sent the account information over once, it was incorrect, I then sent requests for the correct info or a refund, and I got a response on Wednesday:

    “Hello,

Thank you for your email. We appreciate your business.

We just got this account no more then 2 days ago. I will contact the original owner and have this fixed immediately, sorry for the wait.

Let us know if you have any additional questions, thank you.

    Best Regards,

    Blake R.
    Accounts Team
    GamePal Inc.
    http://www.gamepal.com

I’m not sure about your definition of immediately, but several days after is NOT immediately. I have sent repeated e-mails since then.

If you want the order # again, since I guess my e-mails get auto-deleted or ignored, it’s 113449.

I already sent an e-mail to you guys stating I’m posting with BBB/Rip-off Report etc. if I have not received either the correct account information or a refund by Sunday night.

    Cheers,
    Ryan

  26. SUPPORT TEAM RESPONSE

Ryan: Your order was sent on December 8, we had to reset the password to the account and LOTRO did not get back with us until Friday evening on the issue. I forwarded the email again.

  27. Ed,

Go over to my site: http://www.ForSaken-Farmers.com and you’ll see my email address under contact us. Shoot me over an email sometimes and I’ll be glag to chat with you over the phone. 🙂

But since someone brought up their “Made 4 Sale” accounts and custom “Made 4 Sale” accounts. Who do you think created that service? Not GamePal!

Go to my site and you’ll see who really created this service. Gamepal came to us because of our 100% Guaranteed and most secure accounts on the market. He wanted us to do all of his “Made 4 Sale” accounts because we where the origianl creates of the service.

We also started the whole “Custom – Made for Sale” accounts and it was huge! So big in fact we sold out all slots within the first week and keep it listed on our site till we where 3 months back logged with a waiting list. We’ve since pulled our “Custom – Made for Sale” accounts because we can’t meet demand and have to wait till all back orders are compelted.

Well since we refused to work with Eric (GamePal) they now are trying to duplicate our service but it seems like everyone else they can’t. 🙂

Accounts.net tried and fell on their face from closures and suspension but our system has less then a 1% chance of suspension or closure and this is why we offer “Free Remakes” till it’s completed.

But keep up the good bloging and I hope you don’t turn on us. 😉

  28. guys dont use gamepal..they are a bunch of scammers…i got my account suspended from them aswell. NEVER LISTEN TO A WORD THEY SAY!!!

yes they use bots. yes they steal your money…

    GO TO HELL Gamepal

  29. SUPPORT TEAM RESPONSE

Nobody: Are you even a customer? What is your order number if you are a customer?

Forsaken-Farmers, Lets breakdown your message to customers

    1. You say you have a 1% suspension rate. However, on the link below that YOU posted, you say you have a 5% ban rate. So what is it, 1% or 5%?
http://www.buysellmmo.com/viewtopic.php?t=24569&sid=810fc72a0fd329930d121f79ffee5e82 . It’s amazing because you use what we stopped using at the time Ed ordered.

    2. Actually, IGE launched it first, and we did it for them.

    3. 100% guarantee. If you have a 5% ban rate, you have a 95% guarantee, not 100%. What does your 100% guarantee mean when it’s 95%? Anybody can do an order over again.

    4. Such a high demand from a site that has an alexa ranking of 1,000,000.

    5. So you offer free remakes. If you have less then a 1% suspension rate, why do you need to promote such a policy if it’s so rare? No accounts.net did not shut down M4P because of suspensions, you are just making that up.

    6. Why would we work with a company that has bannings? There is a difference from working, and talking business. GamePal talks to everyone, even Ed Shull.

Just keep in mind, we did offer to unban Ed’s account. We also did give him a refund. All customers actually we can unban accounts now as long as they don’t have past issues. We offer a 100% ban free guarantee now because on accounts only right now, because leveling cannot be offered at 100% guarantee because of potential past issues period. If you read above, the clear issue here is we fix issues, you do not.

Stop posting ads forsaken, do it the way everyone else does.

  30. my original reply seems not to have posted so ill repost a shorter version…long story short… gamepal rips every one off and they tried to rip me off and in return i screwed them, i just took back accounts that ive sold them (more than 2 gamepal i used a different email account :)) and im going to take back the conj/necro account that i just sold them. oh and as for the guy that said gamepal has attorneys that prosecute…good luck… those accounts are the virtual property of SOE and gamepal cant buy or sell them. therefor you have no legal limb to stand on… thanks for screwing me gamepal you can go to hell even if you did produce the account that i tried buying from you you wouldnt get your other accounts back, and id still take my conj/necro account back…oh and kristy is a worthless bitch… and the rest of the gamepal people are about as useless as a one legged man in an ass kicking contest. so thanks for the free money that you sent me for my eq2 accounts that i just took right back because you HAD to screw me…yeah…and to think all you had to do was give me my conj/necro account back or produce my wow account that i ordered … nope instead you loose it all gamepal…way to do business ….losers…

  31. Posted on blog before about gamepal experience, but I want to let people know that there are infact good power leveling company’s that offer great service.

    http://www.ForSaken-Farmers.com

I have ordered a power leveling order 1-60 from them, all is going smooth. There service is really fast. Trust me, I have been checking if they use bots, they dont. They level it all by hand and do quests, I checked on armory and they even done a few instances because of the items.

I recommend you do not use anything else than http://www.ForSaken-Farmers.com.

Ed I hope you dont think I am advertising or anything, I only want to let people know of good companys and not scams. 🙂

    Thanks Mark.

  32. LOL… An affliate of Gamepals “Gamewar” now is using my companies name to advertise with. Gamewar > ForsakenFarmers I guess you’ve got to get your clicks where you can.

    To clean things up:

Are we talking PowerLeveling or Accounts?

If it’s accounts we sell 100% Secure Accounts and we are the safest out there IMO. We guarntee 0 Recalls and clean accounts and actually have 0 Recalls! Unlike everyone else with recalls & stolen accounts.

Plus all of our accounts are leveled by US & EU gamers NO Chinese or oversea’s. This is why we have the safest accounts and why Eric wants us to work for him.

Powerleveling is a different beast totally different divson then Accounts and different staff!

Our powerleveling is marjority out of China and yes suspensions happen. OMG no way a company saying they get suspensions! It’s even posted on our site and right now there is about 20% Suspension rate with our “Speed” orders. Which are played 12-20 Hours a day till the order is completed.

The funny thing is you make it seem like we hide the fact but if you would read our site. You’ll see on our powerleveling package page we have it listed in “Green” 🙂

Our 0% Risk pacakges (Currently Sold Out) are done by our US/EU Gamers and has about a 1% risk of suspension/closure and we take all of the risk by offering free remakes and suppling the accounts it’s created on and also the accounts if it’s remade. So you pay just 1 time for it and guaranteed an account that you ordered.

If that’s the 1% you are talking about go back to college and learn to read the whole story vs skimming. You might learn something.

Honestly Gamepal could become a great company if you would just fix a few things.

Ed Shull thx again for the blogg. 🙂

  33. Oh BTW:

Such a high demand from a site that has an alexa ranking of 1,000,000.

    Here is the Alexa Link:
    http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/forsaken-farmers.com

    1 Week AVG: 449,500
    3 Month: 627,681

Not sure where you got 1,000,000

Not bad I would say for a company that’s been in business as short as we have been.

But Honestly how much traffic does a site need? If you have a good product and service and customers become faithful long term customers. How much daily traffic do you really need?

Now say if a site has a really bad reputation and their turn over rate is high. Say 1 order and customers rarely return. Then you would need alot of traffic full of new customers that have never heard of the company and it’s reputation.

    Oh BTW: http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/gamepal.com

    Yesterday: 49,347
    1 Week: 54,144
    3 Month: 86,142

WoW look at those high #’s you guys must have alot of traffic.

  34. Aye, same problem, I used Gamepal for over 2 years with no problem until recently, I ordered a made4play account and they ripped me off 300 dollars and one gold order! Well all I can say is they suck now as they dont respond or even try to communicate to you! My suggestion as a 2 year former customer of their’s stay away from http://www.gamepal.com unless u want to be ripped off!

  35. I recently had gamepal level a toon on a second account for me, the process was going well as far as I could tell. It was not being botted. I know this because I could watch the toon progress on armory, and it was earning reputation with all the major factions and had quite a bit of quest/instance gear equipped.

Unfortunately, in the mid 40’s the account was suspended for association with accounts intended to exploit the wow economy. Whatever that means.

Gamepal issued me a refund for the un-completed levels, without me having to ask for it. And once the 72 hr suspension was finished I had new character over halfway to 70 to mess around with. Not ideal by any means, but better than doing those first 40 levels myself I suppose.

I guess this post should be filed under the ‘partial satisfaction’ category. Yeah, I got caught… but I got a refund and no perma-ban. Im not sure how I got busted, since they were not botting. I am assuming the IP being used was flagged.

I’m trying again, hoping it was just bad luck. Their customer service has been pretty friendly about things, and my initial experience wasn’t bad enough to sour me on the powerlevelling thing.

  36. Well, I had good service at first also during the first 2 years I was with them, but lately they have taken my money and supplied me with nothing, on this matter I am speaking of a Made4Play account, I have tried getting them to reply but nothing, so if u get good service, Excellent! But you also take a huge risk with them nowadays as them really seem not to care like they used 2! Well if you use them just be warned, they may end up just ripping you off and leaving you fuming, but if they deleivey to you, at least you got the few times they do good service which isnt much anymore!

  37. yeah, same here, M4P account that was never given to me… never could get them to respond… batards… and i dont mean the french bread

  38. Gamepal may have got better over the past few days, because they give me another refund and I bought another account taking the chance. There was no problems at all this time! Bought the account and an hour or so later I get the account information. ALL WORKS FINE!… I have happy now maybe they have improved but still its up to you to use them or not.

  39. Hello,
I know everyone and their mothers have posted an “i bought service X and got hosed” BUT i think my story is a little different.

Im in Iraq, no time to play so i had an order to level a hunter from 1-70 with http://www.wow-power-leveling.com/ . Everything was good for the first couple of days. My guy got to level 21 or so. I logged on once just to the character selection pane to have a look see. Im doing constant armory/warcrafter.net searches on my guy to see his progress as i am super anxious to see the progress. Next day i get an e-mail from and obviously foreign person (whom i’d had prior correspondance with) saying they cant get into my account because my password doesnt work. I have received NO e-mail anything from Blizzard saying im banned or anything at all. Right now, all i know is that i cant log in and i cant for the life of me remember my friggen secret password question answer. I think im screwed here.
I also am retarded and am now doing my proper research AFTER the problem occurs. Has anyone dealt with http://www.wow-power-leveling.com/ or know where i can find something else on these guys? I have done a fair amount of research into this but have come up with nothing but your wonderful blog post. Good Luck on #1 gamepal search!

  40. Paypal does not refund on non-tangible so basically im at the mercy of gamepal. Considering I am at level 32 and have not been logged on in 2-3 weeks. And it is day 65 that was supposed to be 14-28 days. I’m really not sure what is going to happen and probably assume gamepal took my money. I would be happy getting the account turned over to me at level 32 and refund me the difference. Emailed them this morning about it for a shot in the dark. Hoping they will do something right, but I guess time will tell. My assumption is that I will be ignored. Not to happy with paypal as well seeming the allow gamepal that only sells non-tangible things to use paypal service well knowingly that they cannot protect the buyer in any way. But from what I am seeing its less about customer service and more about taking money. Being a business owner it is real sad to see it come to this with other companies.

  41. I’m a bit confused. I’ve been playing FFXI since the day it came out in America and I still don’t understand the whole account thing. If I buy an account, is that a whole seperate account from mine? Would I need to make more than one payment? And what about the mail account that I have with Playonline? Does that mean I’ll get another mail account with the new account I bought. And I’m very confused on how someone can steal an account back unless you don’t chane you Playonline password? As you can see I’m very very confused about the whole account thing. I was actually going to go through gamepal and I know from the start if I didn’t just sit here for about an hour reading these posts, I would’ve been ripped off. But please someone explain to me the whole account thing.

What about the registration codes for my account, does that mean I have to get new ones with the account I’m buying? This is giving me a headache. lmao

Also what sites do you recommend for buying FFXI accounts, I noticed most people here are on WOW?

    Thanks for the help.

Last question. AM I able to switch the character from the account I bought to another account?

I understand the whole banning thing too, I’m not scared of that. I have a safe account that I can always go back to.

  42. David,

In World of Warcraft, the Original Creator of the account can simply call Blizzard and have all of the information reset.

From my understanding this can be done with nearly every game out there as the Original Owner (creator) has all of the information for the account to do this.

This is why Buying an account from someone and not taking the correct security perceedures can lead you do having the account stolen back.

Accounts.net, Gamepal/Gamewar, etc… that buy accounts and do not take the steps to secure the accounts and mearly resell them. Have many accounts recalled and stolen back and that’s why their refund policies are mearly exchange programs.

I personally don’t play FFXI, so I can’t tell you how to secure the account or even if you can. But in WoW, you need to transfer the toon on to a new account that you created. To make sure it can’t be stolen back.

  43. Gamepal has taken my money and not delievered. I purchased a level 70 WOW account on Sunday. also got verified by Kristie on the same day stating that I should get my information with a 3 day period. Guess what! it’s been 6 days nows. Live chat does is song and dance by copy pasting responses and the only advice they give is to email the famous account email. After 1 email a day for a total of 3 days, all I get is a cut paste reply stating that an account manager will be working on my order and response as soon as they can. They must have some slow managers. I guess it must take longer than 6 days to deliver an account purchase that suppose to take 5min.(Thats want listed in their FAQ). BTW: live chat is a joke. All they can tell you is the same information already in their FAQ’s. Nothing else.

  44. Wow! I feel for each and every one of you guys that’s been screwed. And I’m posting because I wanted to personally thank each and every one of you that’s shared your experience!

I had been thinking about getting a made4play for FFXI from gamepal… However, after waiting for almost a week and not getting anything more then a useless automated response from gamepal, I decided to do some digging and found this post.

I find it ridiculous that they do not have time to answer some very basic questions via email that should only take like two minutes at the most to answer!

Thanks again, you guys have at the least saved one person from gamepal hell. To those of you still trying to get your order, credit, money back, or whatever… I wish you luck!!
