Traveling from Antarctica all the way to the Arctic Circle hasn’t been the easiest and though luxury cruise ships and private jets have made the journey much more comfortable, travelers can’t visit both the White Desert and the Arctic in one trip. However, SeaDream Yacht Club will be introducing a way to travel to both tropical and polar destinations in just a few years.
The 220-passenger Innovation will feature the finest in boutique luxury with 110 suites and a one-to-one guest-to-crew ratio. The 508-foot megayacht is expected to sail to all seven continents in its first season and will visit over 200 ports in 49 countries.
The inaugural voyage is set for September 2021, in which it will take passengers on a 70-day trip from London to Antarctica. Another one of its itineraries leaves Ushuaia, Argentina, in February 2022 and will take guests to the southernmost continent for penguin sightings. From there it will travel up to Longyearbyen, Norway, to search for polar bears. The trip takes roughly three months, with several stops along South America’s east coast, a few ports in Africa, and numerous sojourns in the western half of Europe.
There are three marinas aboard the nine-deck ship. One marina is used for swimming in an in-ocean pool, another for non-motorized watersports such as kayaks and sailboats, and the third for mechanized equipment such as wave runners. There is also an indoor restaurant onboard, though many meals will be served alfresco so guests can enjoy nature views with their meals.
Guests stay in an elegantly appointed suite that looks out onto the ocean. Most of the accommodations will feature balconies, and premium cabins will afford more space, ranging from 502 to 1,008 square feet. The suite also features walk-in closets, large bathrooms, a seating area, and a dining space.
