And then friends of ours wanted to go out to visit Montauk.” While there, they came across the estate and Wilner told Business Insider, “We were amazingly lucky. We found it by chance, I enjoyed the whole process.”

Since then, it was on the market for $35 million in 2008, and again for $50 million in 2010. The price was then bumped to $55 million in 2016, according to property records, before being offered at its current price by Christie’s International Real Estate.
