Stacey Lynn Thomas Beats Her Child

Guyton, GA— Last Monday, after 10:00, a 31-year-old intoxicated woman lost control of her temper and began beating her five-year-old in a convenience store.   When a witness attempted to intervene and stop Stacey Lynn Thomas in order to prevent the beating, the bystander got attacked as well.   Thomas began slapping the child moments after walking into the convenience store, and when she felt slapping the child was not enough, she used a mop handle from nearby to continue the beating.   Thomas also attacked the witness that attempted to stop the brutal beating, went after the witness with the same mop handle, and later left the store.

The convenience store clerk notified police by phone as the attacked witness followed Thomas out of the store; after the witness approached the assailant, Thomas attempted to run the witness over with her vehicle.   Thankfully, the witness was unharmed when Thomas ended up running the vehicle into a concrete barrier.   Witness reports led to the arrest of Thomas, and she was brought to Bulloch County Jail.   She has been charged with aggravated assault, child endangerment, disorderly conduct, driving under the influence, cruelty to a child, and she has also been charged with striking with a fixed object.   DCF took the child from Thomas and has given the child over to the care of a more responsible and caring guardian.

  1. I received some comments on this post that were odd. The person commenting said they were the 13-year-old daughter of the Stacey Lynn Thomas. The comments didn't make a lot of sense, but were generally defending this woman, and complaining more about the fact that putting her behind bars has inconvenienced the children by forcing them to move in with the father.

I decided to remove the comments because they offered no value to the conversation, were poorly written to the point of incomprehensibility, and may have been written by a child. I think the comments were truly written by this woman's daughter, and that scares me. She believes that what her mother did was fine, and seems more concerned about her not being able to hang out with her old friends from school, than her brothers safety. The entire comment had the trash tone to it that scares me about the future. One can only hope that the girl grows up and out of the family's lifestyle.
