Icon Yachts revealed its latest project, which is now being built at its yard in Harlingen, Netherlands. It’s a top-secret 280-foot superyacht, designed by Tim Heywood that happened to grow 27 feet during the design process. Heywood, a UK designer, is credited for numerous renowned yachts, including the 483-foot Topaz, 436-foot Al Mirqab, and 377-foot Pelorus, as well as 50 other well-known custom superyachts.

The Icon 280 currently has no owner which allows the yard to continue to hold on to the superyacht and add more customizations to the interior. The boat contains accommodations for 19 guests, or twelve guests when operating under commercial rules. There is a palatial 1,400-square-foot master suite on board which is located on an upper deck with sea balconies and large floor-to-ceiling windows providing a 270-degree view of the sea for guests.

The new Icon features a large beach club at the stern with a hammam and sauna, along with a variety of tenders and water toys. There is an eight-person Jacuzzi on the sundeck and an alfresco dining area.

“The construction of a yacht like this is an incredible team effort,” Heywood said. “The more developed design now boasts the touch-and-go helideck and larger infinity pool. The yacht also benefits from the naval architecture of Van Oossanen as well as the engineering input of the Icon yard.”

While there are several images displaying the exterior of the superyacht, the builders released only one image of the interior, which features a mosaic, tile-covered spa with a clear glass ceiling displayed beneath the pool. Regardless of the final design, whoever turns out to be the owner, this Icon definitely will exceed expectations. It’s the perfect example of a luxurious watercraft that’s ready to take the high seas. Perhaps it’s time to check your bank account. The new owner could be you — and you’ll be on deck with one of the most impressive superyachts in the world.
