July 8th, 2018 is a big day for daredevil, Travis Pastrana as he attempts the stunt that landed Evel Knievel in the hospital with a coma that lasted 29 days.

For those of you that aren’t aware of who Travis Pastrana is, he’s a former x games champion that has won several world championships as well as gold medals in supercross, motocross, freestyle motocross and rally racing. Plans for Pastrana include breaking two of Knievel’s records and becoming the first person to spring over the gushing fountains of Caesars Palace, on a motorcycle; all of which successfully landing.

“Evel Live”, will be having a three-hour event on the history channel, at 5:00 pm pacific time. “Evel Live” will show every angle of all the stunts that will be going on at this event. Stunts including a record breaking jump of 145 feet with a parabolic curve while crossing over 18 cars and the infamous jump that Knievel attempted.

On December 31st, 1967, Knievel attempted to jump across the Caesars Palace fountains; which was filmed on ABC sports. Unfortunately for Knievel, success came short for him. Knievel’s accident landed him in the hospital. Knievel’s failed stunt resulted in a crushed pelvis, and femur fractures to his wrists, ankles and his hip. Although performing a stunt like this is rare for a lot of people for a lot of reasons, it didn’t stop Pastrana from believing in himself and what he sets his mind to.

Cycle News reported that Pastrana’s impression of himself was that anything is possible when you believe in yourself and push the boundaries for those possibilities to happen. Pastrana stated,

“I think the biggest impression on me was, if you believe you can do something, even if there’s no precedent set for it, kind of follow your heart and push the boundaries of what’s possible”.

The event is open to the public and starts at 6:00pm, but if finding a good spot is in your interest, the large lot behind Bally’s, Paris, and Planet Hollywood will open at 3:30pm.
