After a long, illustrious Hollywood career, Robert Redford is ready to retire from acting and is also selling his beloved wine country estate—Danza del Sol, in Napa Valley. The home spans across 10 acres and is minutes from Napa’s idyllic St. Helena village. The home is being listed by Steve Mavromihalis for $7.5 million.

Danza del Sol contains an eight-room, 5,225-square-foot main residence with three bedrooms and three-and-a-half baths. There are also two distinct garages (one barn style, another with an enormous workshop); and a grand 907-square-foot artist’s studio with one bedroom and one bath.

In addition, the beautiful hideaway features a vegetable garden, orchard, swimming pool, cozy cabana, backyard redwood hot tub, workout studio and easily-accessible hiking trails.

Redford and Szaggars purchased the tranquil retreat in 2004, according to reports, in which the couple rested, rejuvenated and resurrected their spirits whenever they needed to unwind by ‘meditating along wooded trails, creating in the artist’s studio, admiring a favorite car or motorcycle in the separate garage, relaxing in the spa, luxuriating poolside or cherishing  viticultural views from the understated main residence,’ the listing states.

“The home is surrounded by a natural and secluded landscape,” says Redford. “The property is connected to a beautiful hiking trail that leads to the Meadowood Resort, which we love and are members of. In addition, my wife and I were attracted to the timeless European architecture and feel of the house.”

A magnificent fountain is presented on the peak of a winding driveway, while the European-style white stucco manor is enveloped by privatizing trees. Breath-taking views can be seen from every space within the estate – from high-beamed bedrooms and open bathrooms to a sunken fireplace and elevated outdoor stone terraces.

The kitchen features a large center island with plenty of windows to see the gorgeous sweeping vistas of surrounding rolling hills. The huge family room offers exposed white-beamed ceilings, built-ins, and an oversized wood-burning fireplace made of stone. There’s also a combo office-library. The master suite features floor-to-ceiling spectacle windows, a walk-in closet, a corner fireplace sitting area, and an expansive bathroom with sauna and soaking tub.

Redford says he is releasing his beloved paradise because the couple desires to move back to the Bay Area to be closer to family. The listing claims Danza del Sol is a “small slice of heaven in the Napa Valley.”

“Bob and Sibylle live, and have lived, intentional lives—lives that always seek an equilibrium between work and play; between body and spirit; between celebrating human creativity and appreciating the untouched natural world around us,” says Mavromihalis. “At Danza del Sol they have sought, and in my opinion, successfully created, that sense of equilibrium—a sublime equilibrium that embraces everyone who visits the property.”
