Henrico County, VA— Last week, Patricia Murray, 26, and her fiancé, Brian Stephenson, 36, were behind a YMCA bus filled with elementary school children. The children decided to mock the couple playfully, as children sometimes do, and were making faces at the couple. The couple’s response to the children’s activities illustrated the blatant disregard for the children’s well-being and welfare. In a strange response, Murray, pulled out a .45 caliber gun and began to aim it at the children on the bus. Stephenson also joined Murray, and repeated the actions. Even more disturbing is the fact that Murray’s own daughter was riding the same bus.
When Murray’s daughter spotted her mom waving a gun around she ducked, according to witnesses. Some of the children were frightened by the actions of Murray and Stephenson, and when the bus driver discovered what had occurred he made a call to the local police. After several interviews, both Stephenson and Murray were arrested and charged with five counts of brandishing a firearm, as well as three counts of child endangerment. Murray had bond set at $3,000 while Stephenson’s bond was set at $2,250.
