In the last week, Forbes released their “Self Made Billionaire” edition cover. Taking the front page was the sister of Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner. Kylie took this years title of youngest self-made billionaire, replacing Mark Zuckerberg.
Kylie Jenner is twenty years of age and is $100 million short of becoming a billionaire. Not only was she born into an already wealthy family, but her family of the Jenners and Kardashians continued to get richer through the years. Her family consists of Caitlyn Jenner, Kris Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, and Kourtney Kardashian. All of who are extremely wealthy and successful.
Although she is not yet the youngest self made billionaire, in a year she is projected to hit the billion dollar mark. That is when she will replace Zuckerberg.
A large amount of Kylie’s monetary success comes from her cosmetic line. The line got popular after the release of Kylie Jenner Lip Kits. A lip kit comes with one lip liner, one matte lipstick, and one liquid lipstick. The makeup brand also sells various other forms of cosmetics like eyeshadow and highlighter, and several forms of lipstick.
Of course, she gets money from all her endorsement and her family’s reality show. Out of all her equally famous family members, she is the richest. She even surpassed her sister Kim Kardashian, wife to Kanye West, who was originally the most notable and famous of the Kardashian-Jenner sisters. She is beating out kim by $550 million dollars.
Many people are not happy with Kylie taking the front page; there is talk that more people are deserving of the front page. Some named women like Oprah, and Shonda Rhimes. Kylie Jenner works hard for her money, but she was already born to riches. This is the argument that most people are using when discussing her Forbes cover.
Maybe in a year Kylie will take Mark’s place as the youngest self-made billionaire.
