Graf von Faber-Castell joined forces with Bentley Motors to create a pen collection that not only looks amazing and writes exceptionally well, but also incorporates the spirit of both brands. The collaboration between Graf von Faber-Castell and Bentley Motors represents the first time in history that the Germany-based brand partners with a U.K. brand.
Excluding geography and core product ranges, “Bentley and Graf von Faber-Castell share many things in common,” says Count Charles von Faber-Castell, Head of Premium: “Many years of tradition shaped by individuals, unique design, uncompromising quality and understated elegance.”
The fountain pen, rollerball and ballpoint pens all feature several design cues that are found in luxury cars. The fountain pen even contains rhodium-plated steel nibs. For example, the pen cap features a distinctive Bentley “B,” and a grill-inspired diamond pattern in the refined guilloche on the barrel. The cap is finished with typical knurling. To represent the chromed elements of a deluxe vehicle, the accents on the pen are all polished.
Chris Cooke, Head of Product Design at Bentley Motors explained, “Infusing other products with Bentley’s DNA is no easy task but we managed it with our ‘Graf von Faber-Castell for Bentley’ collection.”
Graf von Faber-Castell’s signature style did not go unnoticed. The clearly visible details such as the solid sprung pen clip, platinum-plated accents and elegant profile are all well-known cues we see often within the Graf line, according to Forbes. Sheila Hopkins, national sales director says, thus the design of the pen was a collaborative effort.
