Everyone loves a trendy, off-the-shelf style sneaker, but what if I told you that you can create a fully customizable sneaker thanks to Ermenegildo Zegna XXX? The company takes both style and uniqueness with its new sneaker called “My Cesare”—a fully customizable shoe that caters to nearly all of its owner’s aesthetic whims.
The design features a hiking boot/athletic sneaker hybrid with a chunky sole, while the upper is made from overlapping pieces of leather and mesh. It first debuted at Zegna’s fall 2019 runway show earlier this month, in which rapper Vic Mensa, model Sonny Hall, and actor Ashton Sanders were already rocking the shoes from the crowd.
Zegna says it is extending its VIP service to the rest of its customers by allowing them to pick and choose a variety of Pantone colors for the layered upper construction pieces, the sole, and other components of the shoe, resulting in a truly one-of-a-kind final masterpiece. For the first time, owners can create a unique sneaker for just $750, that will reflect exactly who they are with the highest-quality materials. There are thousands of ways to style the shoes, offering customers any color combo they desire. And if you can’t make up your mind, you can always buy multiples.
Zegna stores across the world are behind this initiative, though you can also order a pair online at apparel site FarFetch, which is fully equipped with all customization tools needed to create your very own edition of My Cesare.
However, all good news must come with some sort of bad news. Since the sneakers are custom, they will take roughly six to eight weeks to arrive. But just remember, good things come to those who wait. So sit back, relax and even think about the next custom shoes you plan to create.
