MOORPARK, Cal – Shawn Damon Barth, 46, is accused of keeping a 13 year-old teen female as a sex slave. There is no clear explanation as to how the teen began living with Barth or how he managed to hold her captive for so long, but there is indication that Barth, at one time, dated the 13 year-old’s mother. The girl was kept captive for more than 90 days inside a motor home which was parked in an orchard. According to police reports, the girl was subjected to sexual abuse, rape, and brutality on a daily basis: sometimes five to six times in a given day.
The teen was not permitted to leave the motor home where she was held captive unless she was attending school. Fortunately, an unnamed individual from the school noted that something was not quite right and contacted authorities. Barth was officially charged with oral copulation, child rape, and the continuous sexual abuse of a child. He was taken to Venture County Jail, and a one million dollar bond was set. After his arrest, police noted Barth’s seeming arrogance, and his mug shot reveals what little remorse the man has for his actions.
