I’m an Online Marketing Hero

Online Marketing Heroes book featuring Ed Shull

I learned a few weeks back that I was featured in the new book, Online Marketing Heroes.   I actually didn’t see a copy of the book until I was speaking at SXSW.   I have been trying to control my ego a bit after reading Eckhart Tolle, but I have to confess to liking the sight of my name on a book.   And I’ll try not to read too much into the fact that my name is in the biggest font other than the title and author.

I read through the book and was excited to see that it’s really informative.   I may sound a little biased here, but the people they got for this book really are the true experts.   I’m not talking about the people that speak at the same events every year, or have popular blogs where the regurgitate information to the masses, but the real experts in the field like Eric Ward and Kevin Lee. These are two people who are experts at their fields.

I’m excited to have been part of the book.   The author focused on a lot on Blogitive, which is great.   It’s cool to be acknowledged as creating a new market, especially since other companies sometimes claim to be the first.

If you’re someone who works in the space, you may find this to be the rare book that you are certain to learn something from.   I would highly recommend checking it out. And no, I’m not getting an money from this.

  1. Ed, I have been participating in the Oprah and Eckhart Tolle classes and trying to control my ego, too. But I noticed it was still there when Online Marketing Heroes came out and I was one of the 25 people featured in the book. I must confess that I liked the sight of my name on the book cover as well.

I am a nonfiction bibliophile, especially in the areas of marketing and online marketing, and I most certainly would have purchased this book, notwithstanding being included in the book, because it is just loaded with valuable information.

With online marketing, nobody knows it all, and so the advice of 25 different people taken together can really help individuals get up to speed with how to use the internet to improve their online marketing strategies and tactics.

  2. Joan – Thanks for comment. I agree that it’s great having 25 unique voices in one book like this. It’s sure to contain something for everyone.
