MacBookAir and Other Hopefull Predictions

Like every other Mac user, I’m awaiting to hear how Apple will be sucking cash from my wallet at the keynote tomorrow.   As most know, I own just about every Mac product they offer.   iMac, MacBook Pro, iPhone, iPod(s), AppleTV, Apple Hi-Fi, etc…   But I’m always up for more.

My personal hope is that the rumors of the MacBookAir are true.   I would love to have a sub-notebook for travel.   I love my MacBook Pro, but I do feel it’s a bit over powered and weight for what I need when I travel.   My travel needs are simple, web browsing, email, upload pics, write letters, and maybe watch a movie.   I still have some power needs like converting video, spreadsheets, etc…, so I would likely get a new iMac was well to cover those things at the home office.

I’m really hoping the MacBook Air will have a flash based hard drive to make that battery last longer.   Weight and battery life are my two big needs right now in a travel computer.

I also hear their may be a bump in iPhone memory, which would be nice.   I’m not 100% sure I would upgrade from 8 gigs to 16 gigs, but I would at 32.   I’ll have to see if I can sell my current iPhone to a friend or something to cut the price down.   I’m really more excited about widgets and applications on the iPhone.   That is going to be what makes the phone an incredibly exciting device.

It looks like iTunes movie rentals is 100%, which will be great.   I’m looking forward to renting movies right through my AppleTV.   I do enjoy my unlimited Blockbuster account, but I would consider switching away with a big enough library from Apple.

I also think it’s likely that we will see wireless syncing with iPods and iPhones, which really seems like it should be happening already.

I’m sure MS is going to there with the new Office.   I hope the rest of the world joins me in not caring.   Microsoft has no business on a Mac.

On a side note, I’m thinking about buying one of these Michelle Deco watches.   Let me know if anyone has any experience with these.
