One of the down sides of living in Las Vegas is that you’re essentially living in a desert. The heat can get pretty bad, which translates into high electric bills from running you air conditioning.
But on the upside, where there is heat, there is usually sun. And where there is sun, there is the opportunity for solar power.
I have wanted to install solar panels on my home for a long time. And now that I live somewhere that has enough sun for it to make sense, I’m seriously considering it. The only problem is the cost. It’s still an expense that you’re unlikely to recoup in years.
And then there is the idea that you may have to replace the panels. On one hand, the panels are supposed to last a long time. But on the other hand, the current panel technology is not likely going to be able to cover all my power needs.
New break through from MIT have made it feasible for a new bread of solar panel that can actually store a lot more power for your home. I haven’t been able to find a solar panel installer here in Las Vegas yet, but I’m hoping to. I have many questions.
