Great Falls, MT — This past Friday evening in Cascade County, Jeramey Sheeler, 22, left his 4-year-old child sleeping in a vehicle while he attempted to “socialize” with a 13-year-old girl. The child was left in sub zero temperatures for several hours; after arriving at his selected destination shortly after midnight, Sheeler parked his vehicle and left the child in the vehicle, exposed to the elements. Sheeler made no effort to check on the child at any time.
The four-year-old eventually awakened after two hours in the brutal cold. She managed to get out of the car and proceeded to knock on the doors belonging to neighbors in the area. The child was found with skin tinted purple and shivering. The police were called to the scene, and they located Sheeler next door, accompanied by a 13-year-old female. According to Sheeler, they were in bed together, but there was nothing of a sexual nature going on.
Sheeler’s daughter was released to her mother and Jeramey was charged with child endangerment as well as possession of drug paraphernalia when marijuana residue was found inside his Jeep. After his arrest his bond was established at $30,000. The relationship with the 13-year-old is still being investigated at this time.
