Upper Darby, PA — Amber Jackson, 20, was brutally murdered by ex-beau, Freddie Cleveland, 23, after Amber decided to leave Freddie and to end their relationship. Jackson was a student attending Delaware County Community College as well as an employee, part-time, at the Pennsylvania State Police Department as a dispatcher. Amber and Freddie began a relationship in high school, but the relationship recently came to an end when Amber decided to call things off. Amber was in the process of filing paperwork for an order of protection, but the action was not done soon enough.
Around 6 pm, this past Tuesday, Amber went to the Drexel Hill home belonging to her parents only to discover Cleveland waiting for her when she arrived. When she spotted Cleveland she ran inside the home, locked the door, and advised her younger sister, age 13, to find a place to hide. Cleveland broke into the home and savagely attacked Amber with a knife, eventually killing her. Her face was mutilated according to police. After the attack, Cleveland stabbed himself in the chest and he was later found in the Drexel Hill home kitchen, lying on the floor, bleeding heavily. Cleveland was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he is expected to make a full recovery: once recovered he will be arraigned for the murder of Amber Jackson.
