Bang & Olufsen EarSet 3i

I have come to realize that headphone are a very subjective thing.   What sounds good, and fits well to one, may not for another.   In the past ten years I have owned well over 20 different headsets.   It took me a while to find the ones that worked for me.   One of the headsets I tried were the Bang & Olufsen A8 Earphones, which share a lot of the audio characteristics of the Bang and Olufsen EarSet 3i   .

It was about 4 years I ago I first purchased these while on a trip to Las Vegas (this is before I lived here).   I was killing some time at the Fashion Show Mall, across from the Wynn, and I ended up in the Bang & Olufsen shop.   A dangerous place to be when you have time to kill.

I still had just gotten the iPhone at the time, and I was dying to find the perfect headphones to match.   So when I saw the Bang & Olufsen A8 Earphones, I had to have them.   The price point was a bit steep, but a barging for something that carried the Bang & Olufsen name.

As soon as I was out of the store, I put them to the test.   I liked the over-the-ear loop, but found it a bit uncomfortable.   But to be fair, I have some big f’n ears.   The sound was decent, possibly the most musical of any headphone I had plugged in yet.   I should also mention that these do look great.   They of course add some bulk to usual earbud style, but they match an iPhone quite nicely.

The only problem I think I would have with the Bang & Olufson EarSet 3i is the comfort level.   But I think if I had more human-like ears, these would have worked out wonderfully.   The reviews on Amazon are solid.

I can also speak to the Bang & Olufsen EarSet 2 Bluetooth.   I did not like that device at all.   I found the sound quality to be so-so, and the microphone picked up ambient noise like crazy.   Plus, it always felt a bit odd on my ear.   I would stay clear of that device.

The Bang & Olfsen EarSet 3 is listed at $250, but you can usually find them for $199 on sites like Amazon.
