A Versailles-inspired mansion in Hillsboro Beach, Florida, will hit the auction block November 15 for $159 million. Playa Vista Isle is among the most expensive homes for sale in the United States. The five-acre home was also considered the most expensive home in the U.S. in 2015 by the South Florida Business Journal and listed again by Forbes in 2017 as one of 18 homes priced over $100 million.

Concierge Auctions in cooperation with ONE Sotheby’s International Realty is selling the home, while bidding will start digitally on Nov. 12 and end on November 15. CNBC reports the auction will have no reserve, therefore the property will sell to the highest bidder with no minimum bid or reserve price. This type of auction means there is the possibility that the property could sell far below its value, but it’s quite unlikely.

The Playa Vista Isle was completed in 2018 with 11 bedrooms, 22 bathrooms, a 20-car garage with tunnel access, 4,500-square-foot heated infinity pool, six waterfalls and two docks. The 60,000 square-foot home even has detailing such as the 22-karat gold leaf gilding, inspired by the Palace of Versailles in France.

Several amenities are located within the home including a 3,000-bottle wine cellar with individually-controlled temperature and humidity secured by biometric access with an adjacent tasting room. There is also an over-sized Jacuzzi with unobstructed panoramic and ocean views; 13 water features including six waterfalls; and a putting green. If you thought it couldn’t get better, it does. The home even has a private IMAX home theater, the world’s first private in-home IMAX theater, according to Concierge Auctions.

“The thought and attention to detail that has been put into every inch of Playa Vista Isle amazes me every time I see it,” says Mayi de la Vega, founder of ONE Sotheby’s. “The difficulty of replicating this project is one of the many reasons why it’s so unique. It’s incredibly grand on every scale.”

An adjacent lot is also part of the estate, which can accommodate an additional structure, garden area or recreational facility. Not enough room for guests? Impossible, thanks to the 17-space private dockside parking area.

The home is located on one of the highest points of Florida’s “Millionaires Mile,” and Hillsboro Beach is midway between Miami and Palm Beach. Sotheby’s says it is the only Ocean-to-lntracoastal Waterway estate on the entire Gold Coast to offer both 500 feet of private oceanfront beach as well as two deep-water docks, able to accommodate both a 220-foot and 150-foot yacht simultaneously on its frontage.
