Every quarter I go through the same heartbreak. The rumor mills start pumping out wonderful ideas of new Apple products. Media centers that will finally let me access my iTunes easily from my couch through my stereo, iPods with huge touch screens that hold 100 gigs of movies that I can buy through iTMS, iPhones that break the mold of cell phones in both design and functionality, tablets that will take the place of laptops. I buy into all of it.
Here we go again. Apple just confirmed a rumored September 12th conference. And the rumors are in high gear. This time no big video iPod is rumored, but a larger drive (and scratch resistant) iPod Nano. No media center, but a new Airport Express that plugs into the TV as well as the stereo for stream video. No new laptop, but possibly a new iMac with a beautiful 23″ screen. These do seem like more down to earth predictions.
I think the big news would be the new Airport. If you can bring Front Row to the TV and stereo, that would make the convergence of television and computer nearly complete.
