Oscar-winning actress Meryl Street and husband Don Gummer have listed their Tribeca Penthouse in the River Lofts just months after purchasing a gorgeous midcentury home in Pasadena, California. The couple purchased the four-bedroom New York home in 2006 for nearly $10.13 million according to public records and are now selling it for $24.6 million.
The 4,000-square-foot penthouse consists of four bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms, multiple dining rooms, a fireplace and even a direct access elevator. It features a corner living room and a library with a wraparound terrace. From there you can see gorgeous views of the Hudson River and Jersey City skyline. The open-plan styled home offers similar panoramas through triple-glazed floor-to-ceiling windows allowing light and throughout every room.
The kitchen features pristine white cabinets, wood floors, a center wood island and modern appliances. There is a double-wide Sub-Zero refrigerator with two Miele ovens. The kitchen also includes a six-burner cooktop and a Bosch dishwasher. Off to the side of the kitchen is a flex space that could be used as an office, den or another family room.
In the master bedroom of the penthouse is a walk-in closet, two dressing rooms, two separate bathrooms and a sitting room with views of the Hudson River, the Statue of Liberty and uptown skyscrapers. The first bathroom features a white marble-topped vanity and clawfoot tub. The three additional bedrooms contain ensuite bathrooms and overlook the East Side skyline.
The home itself has direct elevator access that opens into a skylit entrance gallery, the living room and multiple dining areas within the home. The modern wood-burning fireplace and Brazilian walnut-planked floors provide an elegant ambiance and an intimate feel towards luxurious entertaining spaces. River Lofts is a full-service condominium with a 24-hour doormen, a concierge, communal garden courtyard, a fitness center and an onsite garage.
The Tribeca Penthouse in the New York River Lofts is currently listed with Jan Hashey and Steve Halprin of Douglas Elliman. He has repped Streep in previous real estate transactions.
