The citizens of America are not lethargic, a majority of them want to work, they are willing to work, and they need to work but the government needs to re-evaluate its efforts in hoisting these families above poverty. The working poor need more tax breaks, a higher standard of minimum wage, mandated employee benefits, more college tuition assistance, a decrease in gas prices, affordable housing and day care, affordable health care insurance, and a welfare system that is willing to work with them, not against them. Doesn’t everyone deserve a chance and moreover, opportunity?
