On November 15 2008 police were called to the home of 19 year old Ella Amish. Apparently, Amish’s three month old baby boy was not breathing. He was transported to the hospital fighting for his life with a broken femur, injuries to his rectum, and internal injuries requiring surgery upon arrival. The baby boy of just three months had been raped.
Ella Amish’s boyfriend, Richard Holman, raped the baby. What makes this case even more shocking is that the young mother stood by and did nothing as her boyfriend raped her baby. The young couple has been arrested and both are being held in the Putman County jail and no bond amount has been set. Richard Holman was charged with aggravated rape of a child and aggravated child abuse. The mother, Ella Amish, is being charged with aggravated child neglect and aggravated assault by failure to protect. Both the offenders are due back in court for their arraignment on January 26.
The baby spent several weeks in the hospital and is still in the process of recovering from his injuries. When the baby was discharged he was put in the care of his biological father.
