Large domestic house cats are desirable for many families around the world. One can have the luxury of adopting and caring for a larger house pet while keeping the actual maintenance level minimal. Cats are desirable pets because of their caring nature and the loving affection they show to their owners. If you are considering adopting a large house cat there are two breeds of cat to consider: the Ashera and the Maine Coon.
At first glance the Asher cat looks like a miniature leopard. The cat is actually a hybrid mix of an African Serval, the Asian leopard cat, and a domestic house cat. The Ashera was previously mentioned in the hypoallergenic cats blog. Sold by Lifestyle Pets and considered by their company to be the most exotic domestic house cats in the world. One thing is for sure, the Ashera cat is quite possibly the most expensive house cat in the world. One of these gorgeous felines will set you back about $22,000. A full-size adult Ashera cat stands about 4ft tall on its hind legs and ways about 30lbs. The Ashera is a genetically altered hybrid cat and considered the ultimate designer dog.
If the $20,000 is a tad bit out of the price range but you still have your hopes set on a large house cat you may want to consider adopting a maine coon cat. A full grown adult coon cat will vary between 8 and 18 pounds. This particular breed of house cat is popular worldwide and easily recognizable. The Main coon is not considered a lap cat which is an attractive quality considering their robust size.
If you are considering adopting either one of these cats be sure you have the means physically and emotionally to care for such an animal. Also, be sure to avoid imitation cats if you are looking for a real Ashera cat or a pure bred Maine Coon.
